James L. Kennedy, 66, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born on August 27, 1948 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Arthur Edward Kennedy and Mary Elizabeth (Maggard) Kennedy-Cowles.  James graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1967 and married Marilyn McGinnis on Oct. 11, 1969.   He was a retired electrician for the old International Packing Company (IPC) in Scottsburg, Indiana and a driver for John Jones Chevrolet.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Edward Kennedy.  Survivors include his wife, Marilyn  Kennedy; a son, Jeff Kennedy (Mechelle) of Scottsburg, Indiana; two daughters, Jennifer McDonald (Jeff) and Kim Kiefer (Brian) all of Scottsburg, Indiana;  two brothers, Thomas A. Kennedy of St. Pittsburg, Tennessee and Kenneth R. Cowles (Nikki) of Brush Creek, Tennessee;  a sister, Beth Buckel (Eddie) of Scottsburg, Indiana; four grandchildren, LaKynn Blanton (Jake), Alexis Kennedy, Kyle Kiefer and Haley Bryant and one great grandson, Zack Blanton.
