James M. Brown, Sr., 67, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on October 18, 1952 in Columbus, Indiana, the son of the late Oakley Curtis Brown Sr. and Beulah Beatrice (Mays) Marcum. James was a retired meat inspector for the State of Indiana and was a United States Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by a son, James M. Brown, Jr. and a brother, Oakley C. Brown, Jr. Survivors include his son, Jamie Brown and his wife Kenya of Columbus, Indiana; his daughter, Donna Johns of Beulaville, North Carolina; four sisters, Lois Burton of Old Vernon, Indiana, Helen Alfa of Nashville, Indiana, Stella Buchanan of Franklin, Indiana and Sharon Brown of Columbus, Indiana; six brothers, Jack Brown of Florida, Danny Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana, Carson Brown of Madison, Indiana, Rex Brown, Robbie Brown and Steve Marcum all of Columbus, Indiana; and four grandchildren, Ava, Malachi, Alexis Brown and Andrew Johns.
