James W. Cline, 92, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus. He was born on April 10, 1924 in Lyons, Indiana, the son of the late Daniel W. and Bonnie B. (Haywood) Cline. Jim was a retired maintenance mechanic for the old Public Service Indiana in New Albany, Indiana, where he worked for 40 years. He served in WW II as a Private 1st Class in the U.S. Army, was a member of the Scottsburg United Methodist Church, the Switz City Lodge # 676 F & AM, International Wood Carvers Association and the Falls City Wood Carvers Association. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a son, Dannie L. Cline on July 15, 1992. Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Ruth (Page) Cline; a son, John M. Cline and his wife Vickie of New Albany, Indiana; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
