Jerrad Marcus Carter, 34, of Scottsburg, Indiana, formerly of Madison, passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Scott Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 9, 1982 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Timothy S. Carter and Marka M. (Mershall) Mullins. Jerrad graduated from Scottsburg High School in 2002 and also studied at Ivy Tech. He was an employee and manager trainee for Wendy’s Restaurant in Scottsburg, Indiana. Earlier in his life, he enjoyed working on farms and had worked at many area horse farms, including the old Six Arrow Farm. Jerrad attended the New Song Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Timothy S. Carter; grandparents, Marcus Delafayette and Marilyn Mershall and Lucille Rawlings Shuck and an aunt, Connie Garvey. Survivors include his parents, Marka and James Earl Mullins of Scottsburg, Indiana; two brothers, Jance Stuart Carter (Bessy Martinez) of Scottsburg, Indiana and Evin T. Carter (Lindsey Hayter) of Knoxville, Tennessee; a stepbrother, James Earl Mullins, Jr. of Plainsville, Indiana; a grandfather, William “Bill” Carter of Middletown, Kentucky; two nieces, Brianna Carter and Alexcia Mullins; two aunts, Tina Jean Adkins and Sanya Hoskins; a uncle, Aric Mershall (Whitney) and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
