Jerry Joe “Pop” Petty, 64, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. He was born in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Carl E. and Juanita Frances (Zollman) Petty. Jerry was a retired maintenance man and machinist for ESSROC in Sellersburg, Indiana, where he worked for 43 years, retiring in 2013 and he graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1970. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet S. (Tscheulin) Petty on Dec. 24, 2009 and a brother, Carl F. Petty. Survivors include two sons, Russell E. and Robert F. Petty of Lexington, Indiana; a sister, Judy Huckleberry and her husband William of Scottsburg, Indiana and four grandchildren, Brittney, Faithe, Bailey and Savannah. Funeral Service: 11:00 am Tuesday, January 5, 2015 at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Sodom Cemetery in Underwood, Indiana. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Monday and after 9 am Tuesday.
