Jerry R. Meeks, Sr., 66, of Austin, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at his residence.  He was born on February 16, 1948 in Scottsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late Homer and Myrtle (Smith) Meeks.  Jerry retired in January of 2000 from Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, Indiana, after 31 years and was a member of the Alpha Baptist Church near Deputy, Indiana.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Horace L. and James R. “Bud” Meeks.  Survivors include his wife, Johnita (Riley) Meeks; a daughter, Cindy Bowling and her husband Tracy of Scottsburg, Indiana;  a son, Jerry R. Meeks, Jr. and his wife Tammie of Scottsburg, Indiana;  three brothers, Kenneth R. Meeks (Bonnie) of Deputy, Indiana, Harlan V. Meeks (Myrtle) of Fredericktown, Missouri and Timothy J. Meeks (Atlanta) of Scottsburg, Indiana;  three sisters, Maedean Alpha, Sue Shirley (Bill) and Elizabeth Redifer (Larry) all of Scottsburg, Indiana and six grandchildren, Jacob and James Bowling, Christopher Wilson, Tiffany, Derek and Lorenza Meeks.       Memorial Contributions: His Church c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.  Online condolences: www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
