Jessie T. Broughton, 80, of Austin, Indiana passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on February 1, 1934 in Gays Creek, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Bert and Elizabeth (Begley) Sandlin. Jessie was a retired employee of the old U.S. Shoe Corporation in Crothersville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mavis Buckner and Inez Riley and her first husband, Arnold “Red” Broughton and second husband, Daniel Broughton. Survivors include a son, Andrew Broughton (Becky) of Franklin, Indiana; two daughters, Debra Kay Danner (Terry) and Lisa Gay Coomer (Ricky) all of Austin, Indiana; a stepson, Ricky Broughton of Pineville, Kentucky; brother, John Sandlin of Scottsburg, Indiana; five sisters, Dora Hawkins, Betty Tidwell and Linda Austin all of Scottsburg, Indiana, Berta Lee Howard of Lexington, Indiana and Sally Gilbert of Carbon Hill, Alabama, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral Service:
11:00 am Friday at Collins Funeral Home with burial in Scottsburg Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Thursday and after 9 am Friday at Collins Funeral Home.

My aunt jessie was one of the most special people god ever created she was a loving wife a beyond wonderful mother a terrific and fun aunt who loved you regardless of your short comings she would tell you exactly how she felt but never did she not let you know that she loved you ! i have memories of being at her house when i was young . being nick named white lighting by her and uncle red . i remember thier house was always a happy place ! filled with love ! i have never forgotten uncle red i think of him often . and my aunt jessie has always seemed imortal to me never thought i would have to say good bye .but i guess noone is imortal so GOOD BYE SWEET AUNT JESSIE you will live on in my heart ! god has taken another rose from my bouquet !
