Jewell Eileen (Shields) Losey, 90, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Hampton Oaks Health Campus. She was born on August 12, 1929 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of the late Gilbert Shields and Mary Mae Belle (Shirley) Shields. Eileen graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1948, was a former secretary for the old Gladstein’s Clothing Store in Scottsburg, Indiana and also had sold Avon for many years. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Leota, Indiana, the Scott Memorial Hospital Guild and a honorary member and Past President of the Alpha Pi Chapter of the Psi Iota Xi Sorority. Eileen enjoyed cooking, gardening, working crossword puzzles and her coloring books. She was preceded in death by husband, John Losey; a son, John Eric Losey; two sisters, Marietta Reid and Norma Gail Bogardus and a brother, Francis Shields. Survivors include her daughter, Jana Piet and her husband Jim of Daytona Beach, Florida; a grandson, Brian Losey and his wife Kim of Jacksonville, North Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Bethel Cemetery Fund or the Bethel Kitchen Fund and sent to Collins Funeral Home, 465 W. McClain Ave., Scottsburg, Indiana 47170. My thoughts & prayers to Jana & the nieces and nephews of Eileen. When Eric passed, a John Hunt Morgan Historical Marker was placed on our Farm at the top of the Finley Knobs in honor of Eric. Eileen & John were so honored Dad allowed them to do this RIP

John and Eileen were great members of the Scott County Scottish Rite Club. John and Eileen were a great couple and Eileen was such a wonderful lady I always enjoyed talking to her when I seen her out. my prayers are with her family she was a wonderful lady.
