Joanne G. Hansrote, 82, of Crothersville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at The Waters of Scottsburg. She was born on December 1, 1936 in Barron, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late John Andrew Ruff and Catherine Ann (Wurtinger) Ruff. Joanne graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago, Illinois and was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, Indiana, enjoyed crocheting and had a green thumb when it came to flowers and gardening. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob M. Hansrote, Sr.; a daughter, Donna Whitsitt; a grandson, Andrew Hansrote; two sisters, Elaine Sendra and Bernice Falgenski and a brother, Kenneth “Sonny” Ruff. Survivors include a son, Jacob M. Hansrote, Jr. and his wife Connie of Crothersville, Indiana; three daughters, Denise A. Lemieux of Scottsburg, Indiana, Darlene A. Curl and her husband John and Joanne L.
