John J. Parrott, Sr., 83, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday,March 18, 2016 at Lake Iola Assisted Living. He was born on November 8, 1932 in New Albany, Indiana, the son of the late John Parrott and Nettie (Sexton) Parrott.  John was a retired truck driver for Smith Transfer in Louisville, Kentucky, a U.S. Army vetern of the Korean War, a member of the Church of the Nazerene and Crothersville V.F.W. Post # 1083.  He was preceded in death by a son John J. Parrott, Jr.; a sister, Gertrude Batman and eight brothers, Robert, William, Albert, Stanley, Roy, Pete, Oscar and J.E.
