Joseph Brett Mayer, 27, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident near Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on November 7, 1990 at Ft. Ord, California, the son of Joseph Todd Mayer and Yolonda Elkins. Brett was a former CNC Programmer for Total Concepts Design in Scottsburg, Indiana for 8 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Brett enjoyed many things, including skateboarding, horseback riding, shooting guns, playing video games and fishing and was also a very good cook. Survivors include two sons, Jayce and Kyler; his father, Todd Mayer (Malinda Helton) of Scottsburg, Indiana; his mother, Yolanda Elkins (Christian Coggin) of Columbus, Indiana; two brothers, Sean Mayer of Greensburg, Indiana and Trynt Seals of Columbus, Indiana; a sister, Candice S. Coggin of Columbus, Indiana; his grandparents, Yvonne LaFountain (Harlan Laman) of North Vernon, Indiana and Gene and Donna Mayer of Scottsburg, Indiana; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. To all of his family..friends and loved ones. I'm very sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for you all. I remember him and his other brother back on fort ord California when they were young. Fine young boys then..that have grown into fine young men. Brett will be truly missed..gone but never 4gotten..and a piece of him will live on through his loving mother..and all who knew and loved him. Rest in paradise.

Brett had such a beautiful soul, he will be greatly missed by everyone whose hearts he touched. It's hard to imagine a world without him in it but I'm so blessed to say I have so many memories with him that he will live on an eternity in my heart as well as many others. We love you brett!♡
