Joseph Brett Mayer, 27, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 15, 2018 from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident near Scottsburg, Indiana. He was born on November 7, 1990 at Ft. Ord, California, the son of Joseph Todd Mayer and Yolonda Elkins. Brett was a former CNC Programmer for Total Concepts Design in Scottsburg, Indiana for 8 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Brett enjoyed many things, including skateboarding, horseback riding, shooting guns, playing video games and fishing and was also a very good cook. Survivors include two sons, Jayce and Kyler; his father, Todd Mayer (Malinda Helton) of Scottsburg, Indiana; his mother, Yolanda Elkins (Christian Coggin) of Columbus, Indiana; two brothers, Sean Mayer of Greensburg, Indiana and Trynt Seals of Columbus, Indiana; a sister, Candice S. Coggin of Columbus, Indiana; his grandparents, Yvonne LaFountain (Harlan Laman) of North Vernon, Indiana and Gene and Donna Mayer of Scottsburg, Indiana; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
