Joyce A. Broady, 70, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky surrounded by her family. She was born on December 26, 1947 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of the late Clarence and Katie (Evans) Lowry. Joyce graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1967 and was married on Feb. 16, 1968 to Steven D. Broady. She was a homemaker and mother first and foremost. Earlier in Joyce’s life she had worked at Vienna Finley Elementary School as an aide for 14 years and also Hancock’s Drug Store. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Leota, Indiana, but also attended the Fairview Christian Church. Joyce enjoyed reading, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Thomas D. Lowry. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Steve Broady; a daughter, Stacey Turner and husband Montie of Scottsburg, Indiana; a son, Craig Broady and wife Jeanni of Scottsburg, Indiana; five brothers, Eric Lowry and wife Nancy of Indianapolis, Indiana, John Lowry and wife Susan, Terry Lowry and wife Delores, Kevin Lowry and Brian Lowry and wife Melinda all of Scottsburg, Indiana; four sisters, Linda McGlothlin and husband Marvin of Lexington, Indiana, Martha Tellis and husband David, Sue Lucas and husband George, Jr. and Katy Hutchinson and husband Tim all of Scottsburg, Indiana; six grandchildren, Logan and Landon Campbell, Alexis McCarty, Bridgett Nolot and husband Chris, Cassidy and Kennedy Turner and two great grandchildren, Oliver Roberts and Lilith Nolot.
