Joyce Ann Thomas, 71, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at University Of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on June 21, 1945 in Harlan, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Earl and Kathaleen Arbuckle. Joyce was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse for the old Madison State Hospital in Madison, Indiana, where she worked for 35 years and a member of the Church of God in Cincinnati, Ohio. She loved to shop, to read and her jewelry, but especially loved her dogs. Joyce was married on July 8, 1961 to Earnest Thomas, who survives. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Andrew Scott Thomas. In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Phillip Thomas and his wife Tara of Lexington, Indiana; two daughters, Kathy E. Swann of Bradenton, Florida and Cindy A. Summitt and her husband Marco Prescher of Lexington, Indiana; a brother, Frankie Arbuckle and his wife Pat of Lexington, Indiana; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
