Kay D. Rose

Kay D. Rose, 64, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at her residence. She was born on September 28, 1953 at the Sampson Air Force Base in New York, the daughter of the late Charles W. Douglas and Hilda (Sterzer) Douglas. Kay graduated from high school and then earned her Bachelors Degree from Middle Tennessee State University. She was a retired administrative assistant for the old Dan Smith American Family Insurance Company, where she worked for 17 years. Kay also retired from the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in Scottsburg, Indiana, where she had worked since it opened. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee Rose; a brother, William Douglas and a sister, Dottie Douglas. Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Roll and husband T.J. of Scottsburg, Indiana; her son, Stephen D. Brisbin of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Sonja Douglas of Hilliard, Florida and five grandchildren, Darryn Morris, Treyton, Isiah, Timber and Timothy Roll. Cremation will be entrusted to Collins Funeral Home following Kay’s visitation.

Kay requested that there be no funeral services. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana from 4:00 until 7:00 pm.

Keeping you all in my prayers. Kay was a wonderful person and an amazing lady. I always love coming in to Cracker Barrell and seeing her wonderful smile. I got to know here from out small talks. She loved her family so much. Continuous prayers.

Met Kay at the Cracker Barrell. We had a shared German Heritage back in our Families, I gave her the book to read about the legend of the Niebelung in Worms Germany. Hope she enjoyed same. Bless all your Family. Nick and Jan

Just learned recently of Kay's passing. She was such a sweet person with a quick wit and smile. We always enjoyed talking to her at Cracker Barrel. She always made us feel and home and remembered our favorite table. We will miss seeing her. Our sincere condolences to her family and friends.
