Larry J. Cowan, 64 of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at his residence. He was born June 1, 1948 in Seymour, Indiana, the son of the late Golden Rice and Mary Francis (Ferguson) Cowan. Larry was a former employee of C & D Battery in Port Jervis, New York and attended the Church of the New Covenant in Austin, Indiana. Survivors include his wife, Brenda K. (Heilman) Cowan; two sons, Larry D. Cowan of Port Jervis, New York and David L. Cowan and his wife Belinda of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sisters, Marsha Pigg of Scottsburg, Indiana and Dorothy Johnson of Rockhold, Kentucky; a brother, Roger Cowan of Virginia; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by a son, Sammy Joe Cowan and two brothers, Samuel & Richard “Rickey” Cowan. Interment in Spurgeon Cemetery. Online condolences: www.collinsfuneralhome.net
