Larry R. Thomas, 74, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Austin, Indiana, the son of the late Otho and Vivian (Spaulding) Thomas.  Larry graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1959 and the attended Northrup in California earning his certification as an Aircraft Mechanic before returning to Scottsburg to help operate his families furniture business.  He was a retired co-owner and operator of the old Thomas Furniture Mart, also former co-owner of the Ponderosa and Arby’s Restaurants all in Scottsburg, Indiana. Larry attended the First Christian Church, served in the Indiana National Guard and a former member of the the Moose Family Center.   He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, John R. “J.T.” Thomas; a brother and sister, Joe and Nancy Thomas.  Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carol D. (Dismore) Thomas; two  sons, Ron (Keyla) Thomas of North Hills, California and Randy (Angie) Thomas of Scottsburg, Indiana and six grandchildren, Hannah, Haley, Hayden, Zoe, Justin and Angela Mae Thomas.   Memorial Contributions: Alzheimer’s Research Foundation or American Heart Association c/o Collins Funeral Home.  Online condolences: www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
