Margurett L. Armstrong, 77, of Deputy, Indiana, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at her residence. She was born on December 9, 1939 in Washington County, Indiana, the daughter of the late John Woodrow Daily and Elizabeth Louise (Lee) Daily. Margurett was an employee of the old Beta Shoe Company in Salem, Indiana for many years and also worked at Grote in Madison, Indiana, where she was active in the Association of Machinist Union. In addition, Margurett served as the Trustee for Graham Township and helped her husband run their family farm. She was a active member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Deputy, Indiana, a member of the Scott County Homemakers Club and a volunteer at Lifespring. Margurett enjoyed sewing, quilting and crafting. She was a mushroom hunter, loved eating fish, playing with her grandkids and traveling with her husband. Margurett was married on Nov. 21, 1956 to Joseph Donald Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Johnny Woodrow Daily and infant daughters, Marilyn, Carolyn and Tammy Armstrong. Survivors in addition to her husband Don include a son, Dale Armstrong and his wife Faye of Deputy, Indiana; a daughter, Sherry Robinson and her husband Loren of Scottsburg, Indiana; three brothers, James Daily and his wife Carolyn of Deputy, Indiana, Ralph Daily and his wife Patty of Aviston, Illinois and Wilmer Daily and his wife Nancy of Arizona; four grandchildren, Christopher Armstrong (Tiffany), Amy Collins (Travis), Kimberly Hardy (Steven) and Ashley Armstrong (Andrew Campbell) and four great grandchildren, Jasper, Hayden and Sylvia Armstrong and Laurel Hardy.
