Martha I. Kiesler, 90, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Hickory Creek of Scottsburg. She was born on June 27, 1929 in Starlight, Indiana, the daughter of the late Earl and Agnes (Koopman) Hanka and graduated from Borden High School in the Class of 1947. Martha retired in 2009 as a cook at the Scottsburg Middle School, where she worked for 41 years. She was also a homemaker, enjoyed cooking, gardening and being a mother to her children. Martha was a member of the Church of the American Martyrs, the Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Alpha Pi Chapter and the Women’s Auxiliary at her church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis G. Kiesler on June 14, 1991. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth J. Kiesler and wife Linda and Anthony “Tony” R. Kiesler and wife Shelia all of Scottsburg, Indiana; three daughters, Patricia A. Renn and husband Pete of Henryville, Indiana, Janet F. Arbuckle and husband Jay and Teresa S. Wheat all of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sisters, JoAnn Sullivan of Starlight, Indiana and Evelyn Miller and husband Cecil of Salem, Indiana; four grandchildren, Matthew Renn, Larry Golden (Rochelle), Tammy Grubbs (Shane) and Tracy Howard and five great-grandchildren, Selena and Andrea Howard, Tyson Mimms, Skylar and Dalton Golden.
