Matthew “Junior” Hibbs, 90, of Scottsburg, Indiana, formerly of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Scott Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 26, 1924 in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of the late Matthew Howard Hibbs Sr. and Harriett L. (Woolridge) Hibbs. Junior was a retired maintenance man at General Electric in Louisville, Kentucky where he worked for 28 years and a member of the old Clarksville
United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and Korea in the 101st Airborne Division. Junior was also a 50 year member of the Jeffersonville Lodge # 340 F & AM and member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Hibbs in 1995 and a sister, Marie Aldridge. Survivors include a brother, Charles Albert Hibbs of Scottsburg, Indiana and a sister, Mildred Rutledge and her husband Jess of Scottsburg, Indiana. Online condolences: www.collinsfuneralhome.net.
