Michael Ray Pruitt, 64, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2019 at his residence. He was born on May 5, 1955 in Surgoinsville, Tennessee, the son of the late Barnie G. Pruitt and Joan (Carter) Pruitt. Mike graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1973 and then enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving for three years overseas. He was a retired blender operator for the old Holm Industries in Scottsburg, Indiana, where he worked for 20 years. Mike was a member of ABATE and enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He always looked forward to attending the Regatta in Madison, Indiana. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Glenn Pruitt. Survivors include his wife, Gina M. (Peacock) Pruitt; two daughters, Selisa Fox and her husband Abraham of Lexington, Indiana and Amelia Bowen of Scottsburg, Indiana; a son, Dillon Bowen of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sisters, Deborah L. Carpenter of Whitehouse, Tennessee, Glenda S. Pruitt of Scottsburg, Indiana and Marcella E. Barrett and her husband Robert Dale of Paris Crossing, Indiana; three grandchildren, Autumn and Danielle Akemon and Jordan Fox and one great granddaughter on the way.
