Mildred L Rutledge, 88, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at her residence. She was born on June 1, 1928 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Matthew Howard Hibbs Sr. and Harriett L. (Woolridge) Hibbs. Mildred was a retired cook at Scottsburg Elementary School and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was married on June 19, 1948 to Jess A. Rutledge, who preceded her in death on May 1, 2016. In addition to her husband and parents, Mildred was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Aldridge and a brother, Matthew H. Hibbs, Jr. Survivors include three sons, Jess Vance Rutledge and his wife Carolyn, Bruce Rutledge and John Rutledge all of Scottsburg, Indiana; four daughters, Darylis Rose and her husband Gary of Mt. Washington, Kentucky, LaVerne Schick and her husband Bill, Debbie Bixler and her husband Robert and Becki Craig and her husband John all of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, Charles Hibbs of Scottsburg, Indiana; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
