Orval “Shorty” Wells, Jr., 86, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his residence. He was born on November 10, 1928 in Madison, Indiana, the son of the late Orval Wells Sr. and Katherine (Grimes) Wells. Shorty was married on Nov. 15, 1947 to Dorothy Grace (Kidd) Wells, who passed away on Oct. 15, 2010 . He was a retired construction worker and farmer, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and a member of the Baptist
Faith. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by by two sons, Stephen Theodore and Eugene Leslie Wells; two grandchildren; Deric Wells and Marsha Renee Hall. Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Cavendish and Toni Ann Hall both of Lexington, Indiana and Dorothy Richie of Charlestown, Indiana; three sons, Robert Wells (Donna) of North Vernon, Indiana, Ronnie Wells (Rhonda) of Deputy, Indiana and Glen Wells (Tracy) of Lexington, Indiana; nineteen grandchildren, Leslie, Rusty, Spanky, Wendee, Terry, Jason, Ryan, Steven, Daniel, Berry, Nicole, Ashley, Samantha, Karissha, Haley, Jessica, Joseph and Jean-Ann; thirty great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
