Philip R. Caudill, Sr., 77, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Scott Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 20, 1936 in Blackey, Kentucky, the son of the late Virgil and Renevae (Dixon) Caudill. Philip graduated from Dupont Manuel High School in Louisville, Kentucky and also earned a Bachelors Degree from Berea College. He was a retired Chief Chemical Engineer and Technical Director for the old Holm Industries in Scottsburg, Indiana, where he worked for 20 years and was a member of the First Assembly of God in Madison, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean Caudill on May 20, 2001 and a brother, Billy Caudill. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth E. “Liz” Matthews of Scottsburg, Indiana and Cheryl D. LaMar (Ron) of Lexington, Indiana; a son, Philip Reed Caudill, Jr. of Savannah, Georgia; a brother, Dale Caudill (Betty) of Greer, South Carolina, five grandchildren, Erica Raines, Michael Pfeiffer (Mian), Summer Matthews, Logan LaMar and Kendra Matthews and great granddaughter, Josi Moon.
