Phyllis J. (Ford) Gladden, 84, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on June 30, 1933 in Scott County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Andrew M. Ford and Verna E. (Boyd) Ford. Phyllis was married on Nov. 11, 1967 to Ivan Gladden, who passed away on Aug. 14, 2005. She was a retired laborer for the old U.S. Shoe Corp. in Crothersville, Indiana and a member of the New Providence Baptist Church near Scottsburg, Indiana. In addition to her husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by four sisters, Forella M. Bridgewater, Geneva J. Monroe, Gladys Chandler and Cora Jane Sutton. Survivors include a son, Andrew C. Gladden of Jeffersonville, Indiana; two daughters, Julia E. Herald and husband Tommy of Austin, Indiana and Celia E. Middleton and husband Mark of New Castle, Indiana; four grandchildren, Ryan, Amy, Craig and Jimmy and five great grandchildren.
