Robert A. “Bob” Everhart, 91, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Hickory Creek at Scottsburg. He was born on August 16, 1922 in Crothersville, Indiana, the son of the late C. C. and Marie (Wolf) Everhart. Bob graduated from Shields High School in Seymour, Indiana and then earned areonautical and mechanical engineering degrees from Indiana Tech in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He was married on Aug. 31, 1946 to Delia J. Richey. He was retired Director over the old Jefferson Proving Grounds in Madison, Indiana, a member and former deacon of the Bethel Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran of W.W. II and was a member of Gideons International. Bob was a private pilot and enjoyed flying and restoring airplanes and has owned over 22 airplanes in his lifetime. Survivors include his wife, Delia J. Everhart; two sons, Steven L. Everhart and his wife Ozden of Fairfax, Virginia and Robert J. “Joe” Everhart and his wife Debra of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sisters, Margaret Gregory of York, South Carolina and Betty Spahr of Whiteland, Indiana; five grandchildren, Benjamin Everhart (Becky), David Everhart, Mary Ann Maurath (Tim), John and Jessica Everhart and nine great grandchildren, Lauren, Meghan, Ava, Farrah, Autumn, McKenzie, Mariah, Sierra & Arianna. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carroll and Richard Everhart and two sisters, Nadine Draper and Norma Everhart. Interment in Bethel Cemetery.
