Roberta “Bertie” Pennington McNear, 64, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Lake Pointe Village in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was born on August 12, 1952 in Seymour, Indiana, the daughter of the late James Pennington and Gaynelle (Adams) Pennington. Bertie was a former employee of Morgan Foods in Austin, Indiana and a resident of Scott County for most of her life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bird watching and most of all spending time and visiting with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Judy Pennington and a brother, James Pennington. Survivors include two daughters, M. Arlene Marcum of Scottsburg, Indiana and Willena D. Bush-Nantz and her husband Clem of Lexington, Indiana; three brothers Andy Pennington of Scottsburg, Indiana, Bernard Hopper of Lexington, Indiana and Milton Hopper of Leota, Indiana; six sisters, Levon Henson of Louisa, Virginia, Glinda Olds and her husband Tony of Deputy, Indiana, Brenda Sue Woods of North Vernon, Indiana, Cathy McIntosh and her husband Paul and Diana Pennington all of Scottsburg, Indiana and Josephine Henson and her husband Jerry of Paoli, Indiana and one grandson, Kristopher Hemard of Lexington, Indiana.
