Roy Allen Gray, 59, of Scott County, died on Monday, February 26, after an illness at Hampton Oaks in Scottsburg. During his life, he loved being a part of this community and he always had a wonderful smile and always loved to laugh. He was a family man, and enjoyed spending time with his wife and entire family. Allen was born on May 19, 1958. He lived and grew up in Austin where he was a 1976 graduate of Austin High School and then attended Indiana University Southeast in New Albany. He then moved on to live in Scottsburg and Scott County the rest of his life. He was married to his wife, Terri Beatrice Gray, who also worked with him in several of their occupations throughout the years, including at these newspapers. Allen had worked for several years at the former Arbuckle Chevrolet in Scottsburg. He also worked at the former Regal Industries in Crothersville. Allen also was an insurance agent in Scottsburg at the Allen Gray Insurance Group. Most recently, Allen was an account representative at Green Banner Publications, Inc., based out of the Scottsburg and Charlestown offices, with the headquarters in Pekin. Survivors include his wife, Terri Beatrice Gray of Scottsburg; siblings: Lora Huckleberry (Charles Huckleberry); his children: three sons: John Michael Krieger (Liz Krieger), Douglas Matthew Krieger (Erin Krieger) and Herbert Bradley Gray and girlfriend (Stephanie Terrell), a daughter, Trista Alane Abdulbari (Nidal Abdulbari); Grandchildren: Lilly Abdulbari, Sammy Abdulbari, Abigayle Krieger, Ayden Krieger, Addison Krieger, Kahless Krieger, Leslie Swonke, Louise Rodriguez, Jackie Alagic, and 6 great grandchildren and a niece: Krystal Bowman (Greg Bowman). Memorial contributions may be made through the staff of the funeral home to benefit Relay for Life and Smile Train.
