Sharon Lee Richey, 65, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on June 8, 1953 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of the late George Begley and Helen (Bowling) Kemp. Sharon had been employed in Quality Material Control at the old Scott Villa Living Center for many years and was also a lunch cook at Lexington Elementary School. She was a member of the Elevation Church, enjoyed horse back riding, spending time with family and especially with her children and grandchildren. Sharon was preceded in death by her mother and step father, Matthew and Helen Kemp; her father, George Begley and a sister, Eunice K. Clem. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Rex Richey; two daughters, Lisa Howard and her husband Lonnie and Myra Richey all of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Debbie Abner of Scottsburg, Indiana; three grandchildren, Joshua Helton (Regina), Liam Helton (Kara) and Kadin Smith and two great grandchildren, Peyton and Jase Helton. Memorial Contributions may be given to Riley Hospital c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.
