Sherry L. Richey, 65, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at her residence. She was born on May 29, 1951, the daughter of the late Charles Levi Malott and Billie M. (Green) Malott. Sherry was married on Oct. 27, 1974 to Emerson P. “Pat” Richey, who preceded her in death on July 2, 2014. She was retired from Pretium Packaging in Seymour and also formerly worked as a cashier and office worker for the old Austin Supermarket in Austin, Indiana. Sherry was a former member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Eastern Star and the Women of the Moose Family Center # 2324. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Green. Survivors include a son, Patrick Richey of Seymour, Indiana; a daughter, Shawna Richey and her wife Audra of Nashville, Indiana; two sisters, Cindy Jezek of Columbus, Indiana and Ginger Malott-Chambers of Clarksville, Indiana; two brothers, Charles Malott of Columbus, Indiana and Stephen Malott of Kansas; six grandchildren, Erica Gearhart (LJ), Alanna, Patricia and Cody Richey, Karlee and Kalee Hurt; two great grandchildren, Hai’Den and Lyric Hurt and her beloved dog, Bella. Graveside Service: 1:30 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Old Ox Cemetery with Rev. David Culley, officiating. There will be no visitation or funeral services. Mom, it's been a few days since this tragic day, I hope that you see now and your finally at peace with me and your with dad now and in knowing that it helps bring me peace also, there will never be a day that goes by that I don't miss you, I'm so sorry that you had to endure the physical pain and mental heart ache, rest easy beautiful lady and peek in on me any time, I promise I won't let you down, kiss dad for me, R.I.P. mom i love you!
