Shirley Jeanne Howard, 70, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at her residence. She was born on April 14, 1944 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the daughter of James E. and Thelma I. (Weir) Funk. Jeanne graduated from Scottsburg High School in 1962 and later earned her Bachelors of Science degree from Indiana University Southeast. She was a retired case worker for the Indiana Department of Family and Children in Clarksville, Indiana and also formerly worked at Roseland Storage in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert E. “Bob” Funk. Survivors include her daughter, Gina Nichols and her husband Jeff of Scottsburg, Indiana; a brother, James M. Funk and his wife Mary Ellen of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Patti Rose of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Virginia Funk of Scottsburg, Indiana; two grandchildren, Jay and Juliet Nichols and several nieces and nephews.
