Sue E. Barnett-Amick

Sue E. Barnett-Amick, 63, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at her residence.   She was born in Campbellsville, Kentucky and graduated from Dupont Manuel High School in Louisville, Kentucky.  Sue retired on June 19, 2015 as executive assistant for Scottsburg Mayor Bill Graham in Scottsburg, Indiana, where she had worked since January 1, 1988.  During her years with the Mayor Sue was involved with numerous committees and organizations including the Scottsburg Beautification Committee, Mayor’s Good Neighbor Awards, Pig Roast in the Park, Scottsburg Courtyard Christmas Committee, Scott County Kids First, Scott County Welfare to Work Committee, Community Building Quality Communities, Scott County Millennial Projects Committee, Austin Rural Enterprise Community Grant Writing Committee, Indiana Association of Cities & Towns (IACT),  Indiana Mayor’s Assistants Association, Scottsburg Water Board Secretary, Scott County Community Clearinghouse Building Committee, Youth Speak Grant Council, United Way Day of Caring Organizer, Scottsburg 2020, Hurricane Katrina Relief Project, Henryville Tornado Relief, Indiana Municipal Electric Association (IMEA) Rodeo Committee and Scottsburg’s Local Rodeo Committee, Local Census Coordinator 2000, 2010, Scott County Learning Exchange, American Red Cross Board, Scottsburg Emergency Management Board and received the “United States House of Representatives Outstanding Hoosier Citizen Award”.  In addition, Sue was a Scottsburg Mayor’s Good Neighbor Award Recipient, a member of the Kiwanians, Moose Family Center # 2324, Scott County Chamber of Commerce Board, graduating from the Leadership Program and the Scott County Partnership Board.  Survivors include her son, Stephan Barnett and his wife Becky of Louisville, Kentucky; her mother, Nettie Newton of Louisville, Kentucky; a brother: Ron Newton and his wife Barbara of Louisville, Kentucky and two grandchildren, Charlotte Mansur and Brendan Barnett. Funeral Service:
2:00 pm Sunday, November 8, 2015 at
Collins Funeral Home with Rev. David Richie officiating. Visitation:
12 to 2 pm Sunday. Cremation was requested and a graveside service will be on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Brockman Cemetery in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Memorial Contributions: Autism Speaks c/o Collins
