Ula M. (DeWitt) Couch, 57, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at her residence. She was born on March 23, 1957 in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Melvin Otis DeWitt and Nina May Lawrence. Ula was co-owner of the Scottsburg Sale Barn and a homemaker. Survivors include her longtime companion, Brandon S. Barkley of Scottsburg, Indiana; a daughter, Angel Bishop of Mumfordsville, Kentucky; her mother, Nina May Lawrence of Louisville, Kentucky; three brothers, Jed and Byron DeWitt both of Louisville, Kentucky and Joey DeWitt of Newport, Kentucky; a sister, Rita Shaw of Louisville, Kentucky and three grandchildren, Diamond, Austin and Asia Bishop. She was preceded in death by her father; Melvin DeWitt; two brothers, Otis and Richard DeWitt and a sister, Mavis Melvin. Interment will be in Ames Chapel Cemetery near French Lick, Indiana.
