Wanda Gean Lynch, 74, of Lexington, Indiana passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at her daughter’s residence in Brooklyn, Indiana. She was born on June 7, 1940 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the daughter of the late Omer and Helen (Samples) Mauk. Wanda was a former employee of Lexington Elementary School in Lexington, Indiana, Villa Vista Nursing Home in Clarksville, Indiana, the old Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown, Indiana and a former School Bus Driver for Scott County School District 2. She was preceded in death by her husband, Omer “Buck” Lynch, on July 2, 1997; the father of her children, William Virgil Powers and two sons, Dana Mauk and Billy Powers. Survivors include three daughters, Amanda “Mandy” S. Powers of Lexington, Indiana, Teresa Korte of Scottsburg, Indiana and Joletta Powers of Brooklyn, Indiana; a son, David Wayne Powers of Indianapolis, Indiana; a sister, Sandy McCutcheon of Salem, Indiana; a brother, Frank Mauk of Hibernia, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Misty Sanchez, Rachael Barger, Heather Freeman, Jimmy Baxter, Michael and Danielle Mauk, Kelly and Tony Hockersmith, 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
