Wanda Jean Mays, 94, of Scottsburg, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Scott Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 7, 1925 in Stinesville, Indiana, the daughter of the late William M. and Eva (Stines) Gillaspy. Wanda was married on Sept. 13, 1942 to Frank Mays, Jr. and spent nearly 69 years together before he preceded her in death on August 28, 2011. She retired as a nurses aide from Scott Memorial Hospital and also was a former cook at the old Moore’s Fiesta and the Park & Eat Restaurants in Scottsburg, Indiana. Wanda was a member of the Church of the American Martyrs in Scottsburg, Indiana. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Gillaspy and a sister, Barbara Smith. Survivors include three daughters, Sandra K. McClain of Terre Haute, Indiana, Beverly J. Schafer and her husband David and Diana L. Adams and her husband Steve all of Scottsburg, Indiana; two sons, Frank William Mays and his wife Peggy and Frederich A. Mays and his wife Sherry all of Scottsburg, Indiana; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Memorial Contributions may be given to the American Martyrs Catholic Church c/o Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana.

I loved going by their house when I was a mailman telling stories and talking about what was happening in town, They were great workers for the church and always asking me about my mother I always think about them when I drive by their house. God Bless Your family.
